Property in Spain's Balearic Islands does not have to be the venue for a party lifestyle, the Ibiza Tourist Board stresses.

Over the coming years, the tourism authority is planning to reinvent Ibiza as a destination for a getaway of a very different pace, with the launch of Slow Breaks Ibiza.

The initiative is targeted at people who live a frenetic pace of life at home, but who might not want to continue the frenzy during their stay in property in Spain.

Rather than head to destinations other than the infamous party island, the Ibiza Tourist Board is reminding those people that they can still find ways to enjoy some time there without being caught up in the excitement.

For example, in winter the residents of Ibiza celebrate the holiday season in a similar way to their Mallorca and Minorca neighbours with a series of festive events.

The off-peak season also sees watersports placed on the agenda, while spa breaks offer a slower, more relaxing pace at any time of year.
