People heading to property in France to enjoy some winter sports – whether beginners or relatively experienced skiers – could find it useful to enlist the assistance of an instructor.
Guy-Aime Hudry, head manager at the French Ski School, explains that instructors are not only there to help newcomers to the sport to learn the basics, but can also help newcomers to an area to discover its geography safely.
"Ski instructors know the slopes very well and can choose the itinerary according to quality of snow, hours of sunshine and beauty of the landscape," he says.
Meanwhile, those planning to remain in their property in France into the summer months could equally find a ski instructor to be a valuable ally.
According to Mr Hudry, the professionals are often well-placed to give advice on what happens in the region during the warmer months of the year, as well as on local customs and wildlife.
