People who head back to property in Portugal year after year could find their experience improved over time as a result.
Clare Banham, spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association, explains that some holidaymakers choose to head to the same destinations over and over again.
That could mean returning to property in Portugal each summer, or a holiday home elsewhere in the world.
Whichever destination you choose, she suggests that there can be positive consequences from committing to the same vacation location.
"You might make friends out there so you go back and you meet them," she says.
"There's a whole variety of reasons why you go back again and again."
Other possible reasons to return to the same place include a desire to go off and explore its surroundings.
Meanwhile, she points out that arriving in a familiar destination can allow people to get immediately into a relaxing holiday.
