If you are heading to a property in Spain this month, make sure you get out and experience one of the Dia de los Santos Innocentes (Innocent Saints Day) festivals which are held all over the country on December 28th.
The Dia de los Santos Innocentes event will take place in a number of towns and cities across Spain and has been described by Late Rooms as a "quintessentially" Spanish festival.
Spanish property owners could be interested to learn that the December event is often seen as an equivalent to the April Fool’s Day celebrated across the globe – and often sees newspapers print hilarious stories and local people play pranks on each other.
"Although its origins lie in a dark historic episode, the atmosphere in the country is one of merriment and joviality and is something that visitors to cities across Spain can enjoy," said the travel firm.
About.com’s section on Spanish Food noted that during the festival, traditional cuisine such as chorizo sausage and Spanish cheese is eaten.
