The Costa Blanca is not all about brash locations such as Benidorm, it has been stated.

In a feature on the less heralded parts of the region, the Times noted that many areas offer not just a quieter scene but a more quintessentially Spanish experience, in which English is seldom spoken and "paellas reclaim their culinary sovereignty over curry and chips".

The paper stated that Murcia offers very quiet beaches and those seeking cultural heritage can find it in places like Orihuela and Alicante, where old baroque and renaissance buildings can be found.

Costa Blanca property buyers looking for something different may decide that such locations are the ones in which they may wish to look.

Earlier this week the Alicante area was given a boost when budget airline easyJet announced it was bringing forward its programme of expanding services from Manchester Airport, meaning there will be more flights to the city this summer.

This could provide easier access to the region for Costa Blanca property seekers.
