Holidaymakers looking for some sun this September have been told to think about heading to property in Spain.

Matt Hall, head of product at budget breaks provider lowcostholidays.com, explains that a number of events earlier in the year have left some families looking for an autumn vacation.

Towards the beginning of 2010, the eruption of Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull, the ash cloud it produced and the subsequent disruption to flights could have prevented some families from enjoying a holiday.

As the summer progressed, the World Cup could have distracted others from taking a break at the usual peak time.

Now, however, property in Spain is one option – including the mainland and the islands controlled by the country.

Mr Hall points out the affordability of the Canary Islands or Costa Brava for a late break, while the coming five weeks are suggested as a potentially good time to look at Ibiza as a destination.
