Spanish property owners can still find affordable flights to the country. People thinking about buying property in Spain and those who may have already invested in a holiday home in the sun have been reassured that the country remains an affordable destination to travel to from the UK.

Nadine Hallak of Cheapflights Media said that Spain is "particularly well-serviced" by low-cost carriers operating out of Britain’s airports.

She added that while the pound to euro exchange rate "isn’t what it used to be", with some good research and planning, visiting Spanish property does not have to break the bank.

Indeed, Ms Hallak believes the country is one of the most affordable destinations in the eurozone, with many return flights from the UK on offer for "well under £100".

According to a poll by Adfero, 49 per cent of Britons are planning to take a summer trip to countries within the eurozone this year.

Spain is set to be the most popular destination, with 17 per cent saying that they intend to the visit the country.
