People thinking about making the move to foreign climes may want to consider one expert's recommendation of opting for a property in Spain.
Amanda Lamb, presenter of A Place in the Sun, listed the nation as her top location to buy abroad.
"The beauty of Spain is that it caters for everyone," she stated, adding that part of its appeal is that you can explore "culture and the real Spain" or find somewhere that offers some of the comforts of home, just in a warmer climate.
Another advantage of buying a property in Spain is that many people speak English, which makes things easier for many Brits, Ms Lamb added.
Research released at the A Place in the Sun exhibition last week revealed that property prices in the country have fallen by up to 40 per cent since the beginning of the economic crisis.
The Spanish government has urged Brits to consider purchasing a home in the nation, as it currently has approximately 700,000 unsold properties.
