The tourism organisation for the Aquitaine region explains that Le Moulin de Poyaller, a wildlife reserve named for a 400-year-old working water mill built there, is home to white deer with a love of the water.

Visitors are often left amazed when they see the deer frolicking in the water – and now have even more of the gentle giants to enjoy.

“This year the reserve welcomed a new arrival,” Comite Regional de Tourisme d’Aquitaine says.

“This birth was a rare, precious occasion – like the beautiful moments when the noble white deer cool down by bathing in the river.”

Other creatures that await people who stay in property in France‘s surrounding area include goats, wallabies and miniature falabella horses.

The tourism organisation adds that Aquitaine’s protected nature stretches all the way to the sea, with 250 km of cared-for coastline along its western edge.
