Britons continue to head to property in France, while wider trends shape the popularity of many other destinations, it is noted.
Jack Fraser, group chief operating officer for vacation group Travelzest, explains that UK holidaymakers are still heading to property in France, Spain and Portugal as traditional destinations stay in favour.
This is in spite of a trend towards more long-haul trips as adventurous travellers try out new destinations further afield.
“Affordability is a key factor,” says Mr Fraser, adding that consumers are “making the most” of offers on flights to take a break for less.
However, he also notes that “the search for new experiences” is driving demand for some destinations higher.
The comments follow the publication of figures by market research firm Greenlight that showed more Britons were looking for holidays in June than in the previous month.
In all, searches for flights rose in number from 29 million in May to 38 million the following month.
