Golf resorts are becoming an increasingly popular place for Portugal property seekers to hang their hats, it has been claimed.

The luxury and security offered by this type of Portugal property makes it a very appealing proposition, both to fans of the sport and those seeking a family-friendly environment, according to Daniel Chavarria Waschke of estate agents Engel and Volkers.

He tells the Telegraph: "[Golf resorts] are normally gated which makes them more child-friendly […] so the possibility of playing with other kids is higher than in other locations.

"Being next to or directly on a golf course guarantees you good, open, green views plus peace and tranquility, which many other traditional communities just don’t have."

His claim is backed by Nicola and Richard Gibbs, who bought a Portugal property at the Vale do Lobo golf resort in the Algarve ten years ago and tell the newspaper it offers just the kind of stress-free living they were after.
