Those seeking Portugal property will be pleased to know there are still bargains to be had in the country.

While the popularity of Portugal property has been good news for those who have already invested in their second home, with prices in the country remaining relatively stable, bargain Portugal property can still be found, the Times reports.

Writing for the newspaper, property expert Zoe Dare Hall states: "Prices on the Algarve, a perennial favourite with British buyers, have held up fairly well, especially in established resorts such as Vale do Lobo.

"But there are discounts: newly completed flats in the Lagos Panoramo development, on a hilltop overlooking the marina, are priced from £242,000 […] [and] buyers also receive seven per cent cash back."

Approximately half a million British people now own a home abroad, according to the newspaper, a statistic which includes those who have invested in Portugal property.

Recent statistics published by Hotels.com showed a massive rise in interest for Portugal holiday destinations, including a 350 per cent increase in searches for Portugal property vacations in Albufeira.
