Property in Florida is the subject of 2011 guided toursA non-profit organisation has planned tours of property in Florida's Old Town district of Key West for the new year.

The Old Island Restoration Foundation was formed in 1960 and raises funds to help preserve and restore property in Florida's historical town.

Nearly 3,000 buildings are based within the district, many of which date back to the 1800s and were built by cigar manufacturers and shipbuilders.

Already several hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised by the foundation, with a number of properties restored as a result.

In 2011, the 51st anniversary tours offer a chance to take in some of the most notable homes in the area.

Tours are due to take place on January 21st and 22nd, February 18th and 19th, and March 18th and 19th.

Five homes will be visited on each, with the opportunity to see interior restorations and renovations as well as to see the structures from the outside.
