Budget airline easyJet has announced that the Costa Blanca will benefit from its decision to bring forward the expansion of its operations from Manchester Airport.

The decision to introduce new services in May, rather than August as originally planned, includes extra flights to Alicante.

UK commercial manager for the airline Carly Brear said the additional holiday flights in the summer would make it easier for people from the north-west to reach the new destinations.

Such a situation could boost Costa Blanca property investors looking to rent these out to tourists.

Earlier this month Costa Blanca property expert Colin Scriven, from the Hamiltons of London estate agency, told the Times that buyers should be able to find plenty of bargains in the region at present.

This was because only those being discounted heavily were being sold, he explained.

One example of such a cut price deal quoted by the paper was a two-bedroom flat whose price was trimmed from €351,278 (£323,773) to €200,781 in November 2008.
