The Nerja region of the Costa del Sol has been recommended for anyone seeking a Spanish property in a more remote part of the popular destination.

Spanish property in the eastern Costa del Sol area of Nerja can benefit from quieter beaches than some of its more populated counterparts, with over 16 km of white sandy coastline fringing the town, according to Spanish hot Properties.

Marketing and operations manager for Spanish Hot Properties Susana Suspenda comments: ‘The first thing you have to understand about the Nerja property market is the area itself.

‘Eastern Costa del Sol is a great place to get away from the busy beaches further west, but it’s also a great tourist destination all its own […] once a small fishing village, Nerja has maintained a lot of its original character.’

She added that anyone buying Spanish property in the region would be living in a town full of narrow streets and whitewashed homes, while famous attractions include the Balcon de Europa clifftop avenue and the neighbouring Blue Mountains.

Nerja is located 50 km from Málaga and has a population of approximately 22,000, according to andalucia.com.
