Those who have moved from the UK to a property in Spain or other parts of Europe may be all too aware of the impact of annoying neighbours.

According to research from Abbey Mortgages, nearly 100,000 people have moved house over the past two years to get away from those who live next door.

Commenting, head of residential research at Knight Frank Liam Bailey admitted that not getting on well with neighbours can be a contributing factor in people’s decisions to up sticks and move elsewhere.

As well as this, changes to the way in which a family uses a home and the lifestyle of the family often impact the decision to move, such as the need for more room – or less – in a property.

Many Brits who have chosen to move to a property in Spain may have done so when their children were old enough to move out, or may have chosen to make the move after retiring.
