Confidence in the new Paramount-branded theme park, which is going ahead in Murcia, was high following a conference on December 23 2011 when the mayor of Murcia declared that there was “no going back” for the theme park and that “there are investors”, which is sure to bring money and tourism to the area.

The company behind the proposed park has also stated that it will be purchasing the land on which they plan to build the theme park on 6th February 2012. It is costing them €15.8 million, and that it is expected that details of the investors will be revealed on or around the same date.

Director of Mercer’s, a property agent selling in the region, had this to say: “Some have been sceptical about Murcia’s grand plans, understandable given the economic climate, however the mayor has reiterated the importance of the project in guaranteeing work to a whole generation of young people growing up in Alhama de Murcia. Likewise, if PREMURSA has officially stated its intent to spend almost 16 million euros next month we can be confident that they have the backing to proceed – otherwise 16 million euros for what is essentially a rather unremarkable piece of land would be a seriously expensive error. All eyes will be on 6 February in anticipation of the biggest step forward in the project to date.”
