Property in France offers access to a strengthening marketThe market for property in France is strengthening at the moment, according to freelance real estate journalist Marc Da-Silva.

He explains that the south is a particularly appealing prospect for property in France at present.

"Demand is going up, according to a number of agents, and prices are also being pushed up due to a lack of supply in relation to growing demand," he says.

Meanwhile, people are realising that the market for property in France has already passed its lowest point in the recession and is now on the way up.

This represents a move forward from 2009, when caution among investors saw many waiting to see if property values would fall further.

For UK investors, the opportunity to buy abroad could be even greater thanks to historically low domestic interest rates.

Mr Da-Silva points out that these have left many people with relatively low costs to meet on their own mortgages in recent months.
