'It's getting cheaper' to visit properties in SpainWith prices in the eurozone falling, people with property in Spain could find that their next visit to their holiday home costs them less than before.

This is according to Sue Ockwell, spokesperson for the Association of Independent Tour Operators, who noted that "people are starting to realise that the eurozone isn't now so expensive".

She highlighted the example of those who own property in Spain, stating that no-frills airlines have made it both easier and cheaper to travel to the country.

Ms Ockwell added that many holidaymakers enjoy returning to the same destination and observed that "people are realising how lovely places closer to home are".

Research published in the Post Office Travel Services Holiday Money Report earlier this month backs up Ms Ockwell's assertion that travellers will get more for their money in eurozone destinations this year.

According to the study, every eurozone country included in the survey is cheaper than this time last year, with Spain leading the way.

The Post Office noted that some items in Spain have fallen in price by up to 30 per cent, compared with 12 months previously.
