This is the opinion of Ignacio Vasallo, director of the Spanish Tourism Office for the UK and Ireland, who noted that the city offers lots of things to see and do.
He revealed that Easter is a good time of year to visit the area, because the weather is good and it offers an opportunity to get a "fantastic insight into Spain's religious and cultural traditions".
Mr Vasallo commented that anyone staying in a property in Spain during the religious festival is bound to enjoy the processions that wind through the streets.
And when the celebrations have finished, there will be other attractions waiting to be discovered in Malaga, he added.
Describing it as a "dynamic and atmospheric Spanish port", he urged visitors to pay a visit to the Picasso Museum, as well as the Alcazaba.
It appears that Brits are already drawn to the destination, with Skyscanner publishing figures that show that Malaga is among the most popular locations for an Easter getaway this year.
