Increasing demand for the complete luxury lifestyle package is boosting interest in Is Molas Resort, Sardinia.

Discerning buyers are increasingly looking to buy luxury homes built around exclusive spa complexes and championship level golf courses. This is drawing them to Is Molas, a 40-year-old holiday spot and second-home golf resort. Located only 25 miles from Cagliari International Airport – with direct flights from several cities in the U.K, Europe and Russia – Is Molas is poised to become one of the Mediterranean’s most desirable addresses.

The world renowned golf resort is about to get even more appealing. The resort is expanding to include 100 two-to six-bedroom villas, a five-star hotel, an 18-hole Gary Player championship golf course to add to the existing 27 holes, a clubhouse, spa, beach club and a piazza with boutiques and restaurants.

Developer Immsi Group, which has business interests that include Piaggio and Unicredit Bank, has spent seven years developing the plans to extend the resort, and the long anticipated work on the project’s first phase began in November.

What really marks the resort out is the audacious and striking property design by Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas. Both sculptural and stylish, the four distinct villa styles are excitingly innovative and beautiful, with a Moroccan-meets-Mexican vibe. It’s a style that is similar to architecture in the north of the island. The stone-built villas, ranging in size fom 210m2 to 540m2, look out to sea and are designed around private swimming pools and gardens. They feature curvaceous white walls, rooftop windows that let in masses of light, and living areas connected by outdoor terraces.

While the resort is designed for golfers, Is Molas has much more to offer. The resort is surrounded by pine forests and world-famous beaches, and close to Piscina Manna Natural Park. Moderate year-round temperatures make this laid-back destination ideal for outdoor activities, from water sports and boating to horse riding and mountain biking. Sardinia is autonomous and has a distinctive culture from mainland Italy, offering delicious regional food and wine.

Villas, ranging from €1.6 million to €3.3 million, are available through Savills International.
