Taking a long haul winter sun break could be an ideal way for Brits to escape the dreary UK weather and grab a bargain break, it has been noted.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Fred Mawer said that those who may have been "toying with the idea" of jetting off to catch some winter rays could find now the perfect time.

People could consider a winter sun break to a property in Florida, as the state is well known for offering year-round good weather and there could be some holiday bargains available during the winter season, when less people traditionally travel.

"Tour operators claim that many long-haul packages are actually cheaper this winter than in 2008-09," the source noted.

On a trip to Florida, Brits could head to the state’s world-famous parks, such as Disney World and Universal Studios. Booking passes for such places in advance of a trip could prove beneficial and help Brits to save cash.
