Holidaymakers and second homeowners in Florida now have another fun-packed attraction to visit in the Sunshine State, with the opening of a new Legoland there on October 15.

True to style, Florida’s Lego themed interactive park will be larger than all other existing Legolands around the world – in Windsor (UK), California, Denmark and Germany. Offering more than 50 rides, it occupies a huge 150-acre site in Winter Haven, 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks and downtown Tampa.

The expected boost to the local property market from the arrival of Legoland Florida is twofold. On the one hand, the theme park’s hundreds of employees will need housing, opening up long-term buy-to-let investment opportunities. On the other hand, the Highway 27 corridor should become even more appealing to holiday homeowners offering short-term holiday lets, as it offers good access not just to Disney but also Legoland.
