People relocating to property in France‘s Aquitaine region might welcome the news that a great British tradition – the Easter egg hunt – also takes place there.

The region’s tourism body explains that the gardens of Chateau de Marqueyssac are due to be laced with around 2,000 hard-boiled eggs this Easter weekend.

Children will be allowed to run through the dreamlike gardens, retrieving the tiny eggs which they can then exchange for chocolate equivalents.

During the afternoons of Easter Sunday and Monday, the gardens are also to play host to a number of related events.

Egg decorating and hand-turning eggs out of wood will be available for visitors to try.

The gardens of Chateau de Marqueyssac could prove a popular year-round attraction for anyone buying property in France along the Dordogne valley.
