Destinations in eastern Europe still offer good value despite recent currency fluctuations, it has been claimed.

In comments that may encourage those investing in Budapest property, Rob Innes of flight comparison site Skyscanner has identified Hungary as one of the cheapest places to go, in spite of the exchange rate between the pound and euro.

He advised people against basing travelling decisions on whether a country is outside the eurozone, arguing that nations such as Norway and Switzerland remain more expensive.

"Just because a country is outside the eurozone, it doesn’t guarantee low prices, because many non-euro currencies have also strengthened against the pound," he explained.

Investors considering buying in eurozone areas, perhaps in Budapest property, may wish to take note of his comments.

Additionally, people thinking of purchasing Budapest property may benefit from interest rate cuts announced by the National Bank of Hungary recently.
