The Spanish tourism industry is using Hollywood to try and tempt holidaymakers to head to the country for a break in a Spanish property, it has been reported.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, officials in the country have taken steps to relax filming laws for a new Hollywood production starring Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise, in a bid to entice visitors to the country with picturesque camera shots of the nation.

The actors have appeared in films such as Mission Impossible and There’s Something About Mary and also starred together in Vanilla Sky.

The pair are now starring in Knight and Day, which is being shot in and around the city of Seville in the south of the country.

Speaking to local media in Cadiz, councillor Bruno Garcia said the relaxing of filming rules "is part of efforts by the municipality to promote the city, attract film producers and project Cadiz’s tourism image internationally".

Such news could see Cadiz become a popular place for Brits to head for a Spanish property break.
