Campsites offer a different way to see property in FranceFamilies staying in property in France this summer may already have that holiday feeling – but that does not mean they cannot take a break in the country.

There are plenty of campsites and caravan parks that could allow you to get out of your usual property in France and see a different region of the country on a budget.

Many of these are fitted with luxurious extras such as spas, saunas and Jacuzzis, the French Government Tourist Office advises.

Alternatively, campsites could be the perfect place to head to take in the sights of French property while planning to buy a second home there.

The tourism body adds that tents can be pitched on sites in places ranging from charming French villages to the shadows of mediaeval castles and prehistoric caves.

Caves themselves served as French property in the distant past, with visitors to the country now walking in the footsteps of the 450,000-year-old Tautavel Man, a primitive race of humans named after the French caves in which their remains were discovered.
