Euganean Hills 'a good location' for walking from property in ItalyThe Euganean Hills in the Veneto region are an excellent place to go walking while staying in a property in Italy, one journalist has claimed.

Writing for Italy Mag, Myra Robinson pointed out that this collection of 17 extinct volcanoes provides the perfect backdrop for a stroll, adding that there are several routes available to tackle.

She recommended taking one of the trails around the foothills of the largest of the peaks – Monte Venda – where you will discover varied habitats as you walk.

Those who are visiting property in Italy in autumn may want to try Ms Robinson's favourite route at this time of year – the Monte Calbarina and Monte Piccolo track.

"The views from this stretch, over to the village of Arqua Petrarcha – nominated one of the most picturesque in Italy – give you a crescent of cones with glimpses of the flat plains beyond," she enthused.

After a long walk, travellers could unwind at one of the thermal spas for which the region is famous.

Italy's tourist board notes that the Abano Terme spa resort alone attracts two million visitors each year.
