Granada could be the ideal base for anyone seeking property in Spain if one travel writer is to be believed.
In an article for Travelmag, Peter Parker revealed that the Andalucian city has much to offer visitors in the area.
"Granada is a holiday destination that offers both an amazing insight into the Moorish history of the area and a vibrant city with a wealth of activities," he stated.
Mr Parker advised anyone staying in property in Spain in the area to visit the Alhambra castles, which is situated just outside the city in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Another attraction that it is worth exploring is the Science Park, which is home to a butterfly house, planetarium and interactive museum among other things, he noted.
Meanwhile, those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors will find that they are well catered for due to the proximity of the Sierra Nevada National Park.
The area is popular among walkers and climbers, as well as boasting Europe's most southerly ski resort – Solynieve.
