Brits stay keen on property in Spain thanks to the good value offered by the countryWhile exchange rates may have seen visitor numbers to some European countries shift in recent months, Britons have continued to head to property in Spain, it is noted.

Sharron Livingston, editor of The Travel Magazine, explains that good value holiday options are always popular with UK holidaymakers.

Even with a weaker pound in recent months, this has kept a supply of visitors heading to property in Spain.

"Some destinations – like Turkey, Egypt and Spain – were always considered to be value for money," she observes.

Meanwhile, a strengthening pound could see visitor numbers rise to Spain and other European destinations in the months to come.

Improving exchange rates will spur travel within the eurozone for the "intrepid travellers" that Briton has long produced, Ms Livingston predicts.

She also reports a trend for more people to investigate alternatives such as ferry travel and cruises, following recent disruptions to air travel.
