It’s good news for the Algarve this week as it is revealed that the International Golf Travel Market, taking place in November, is set to generate a record amount of business in the region with more buyers and exhibitors set to attend than ever before.

The enormous event sees people in the industry from across more than 50 countries piling into the area to attend appointments and networking events. More than 250 buyers have registered from 38 countries. This is a significant increase of 19 per cent on the same event in 2011.

Exhibitors hail from Brazil, Ireland, Tunisia and an extensive range of countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

With so many people flooding in, businesses in the region are set to experience a huge boost in profits. Hotels, bars, restaurants and the like are no doubt counting down the days to the sudden influx bringing with it much needed extra income which will be welcomed in these turbulent economic times.

The Algarve Tourism Board previously hosted IGTM in 1999 and as a result they are anticipating fresh interest in the region which has been an established golf travel destination for more than 30 years.
