A new plane dedicated to the sunshine state allows a stylish way for people to reach property in Florida.

The new Florida One aircraft from Southwest Airlines features an eye-catching design depicting the state’s emblem.

In honour of the launch of the aeroplane, the airline is also lowering fares on many of its routes, both within Florida and into the state from outside.

As well as carrying people to property in Florida, the aircraft’s owners provide employment to many of the state’s residents.

Governor of Florida Charlie Crist says: "Not only is Southwest employing thousands of talented Floridians, but is also making Florida more easily accessible and affordable for visitors."

This is not the airline’s first state-specific craft, with its fleet already including New Mexico One, fondly named Zia.

Zia is similarly eye-catching, featuring a bright yellow design that is also intended to reflect the flag of the state she represents.
