Anthony Peregrine, writing for The Daily Telegraph, explained: "Sete is the most fascinating small town on the French Mediterranean coast precisely because it doesn't go out of its way to be charming."
He added that holidaymakers taking a break in a property in France will find it difficult to fail to be impressed by the beaches the town offers, which are among "the finest of the French Med".
