Cyprus is setting itself up to become an international business and services centre, according to Antonis Paschalides, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

On Wednesday, the ICPAC (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus) said that a series of business seminars and missions would take place throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. These seminars will aim to promote Cyprus as a business and services centre internationally.

ICPAC have planned 20 seminars in 14 different countries, all of which will be headed either by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, or by Antonis Paschalides himself. Businessmen in Cyprus will also be holding meetings with their foreign counterparts.

Mr Paschadiles added that prior experience has shown very positive results and the mission is expected to see the number of registered companies in Cyprus increase dramatically, as well as investment and foreign deposits in Cyprus. This will all have a highly positive impact on the economy in Cyprus and the tourism industry will also reap the benefits from it.
