Cyclists with property in France may want to head to Aquitaine this springtime.French tourism organisation Tourisme Aquitaine points out the reasons why its region could be ideal for people with property in France, whether they prefer to stay on dry land or take to the water.

The Canal lateral a la Garonne is the reason for both water-lovers and land-lubbers to head to Aquitaine, with a variety of different routes planned along its course.

Among them is the "amongst foie gras and Armagnac" tour, a seven-stage route which makes the most of the delicacies of both food and drink that the region has to offer.

"What does a canal mean? A flat cycling track – perfect!" the tourism body enthuses.

However, it is not just cyclists who can enjoy the Lot-et-Garonne region, as the trail along the banks of the canal is designed for a variety of different purposes.

This could allow anyone with property in France to take part in the other activities recommended by Tourisme Aquitaine, ranging from walking to horse riding, while the canals may also be ideal for canoe enthusiasts.
