Those seeking Costa del Sol property should be able to pick up plenty of bargains as prices fall, it has been stated.

Spanish property firm Insight has noted that official figures from the ministry of housing have shown prices to still be rising on a national basis, but added that "few people actually believe the ministry of housing’s figures" and suggested that prices are actually falling substantially in real terms, rather than just in relative terms (with house prices increasing by below the inflation level).

The site suggested that appraisal company Tinsa has provided more accurate figures, indicating a 5.9 per cent drop in prices in the first nine months of 2008.

Such trends suggest that there are plenty of bargains to be had for Costa del Sol property hunters.
