Corsica has not one but two tourist scenes, it has been stated.

In news that may interest French property investors wishing to make informed decisions about buying into the tourist buy-to-let market on the island, Lucy White, editor of the Rough Guide to Corsica, advised that this is a fact often overlooked.

She stated: “Corsica is generally thought of as an expensive, luxurious getaway – especially in the south around Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio.”

However, she added, it is also a place that attracts active, outdoor sports-orientated tourism, including the GR 20 walking route around the island and sports such as horse riding, mountain biking and climbing.

The tourist industry on Corsica is also bolstered by its cultural festivals, french-property.com states.

It noted that these include the Estivoce festival, which features concerts and singing in locations such as narrow streets, churches and villages.
