It has been revealed that Brits continue to be the largest foreign group to buy property in Spain; however other nationalities are increasing their buying power in the country.

Mark Stuckling, Managing Director of Spanish Property Insight has stated to Taylor Wimpey de España that “with the process of international diversification, sales should slowly start to increase.”

Taylor Wimpey de España has highlighted research from the College of Registrars in Spain which shows that British people accounted for one in ever four property sales to foreigners in 2010.

The sales and marketing director for the home developer, Ignacio Osle revealed that as well as mainland Spain, Mallorca is still a hotspot for investment in property amongst UK nationals.

According to data from the General Spanish Real Estate Market Indes, the Balearic Islands, along with the Canary Islands, only experienced house prices drops of 2.5% last month; better than the national average which is 6.4%.
