In news that many interest those thinking of investing in the Tuscany property market, it has been stated that British holidaymakers are not staying at home despite the credit crunch.

Lonely Planet author David Else told Go Travel Insurance that people are cutting their cloth according to their means and still going ahead with their trips.

He stated: "Instead of a three-week holiday to Tuscany, it might be two weeks. Instead of three-star they’ll go self-catering."

The latter trend may encourage property investors, as this could open up opportunities to rent out self-catering holiday properties.

Meanwhile, the next few weeks may be a very good time to be in Tuscany.

This is when the grapes are harvested and there will be a number of wine festivals held, reports Go Europe.

Blogger James Martin stated that a good location to visit in Tuscany is the city of Postoia, which he described as a "hidden gem".
