The French Riviera town of Menton stages its lemon festival through February and March.

Split across three weekends, the event celebrates the status of Menton as a major centre of lemon growing.

Those keen on a bit of fun and vitamin C as well as investing in French Riviera property will be able to enjoy a wide range of carnival costumes, exhibitions, floats and fireworks as the town parties in celebration of the yellow citrus fruit.

A display of Orchids and a permanent exhibition of rare citrus plants at the Palais Carnoles can also be viewed by visitors to the area, while those who fancy a bit of shopping can buy local food and crafts.

Menton is located between Monaco and the border with Italy, two more factors that may attract French Riviera property buyers to the district.

The local tourist information site notes that Menton enjoys 316 sunny days per year.
