Property in France 'could prove ideal' for ski breaksStaying in property in France could be a good way to hit the slopes if you are on a budget.

This is according to David McLoughlin, manager of Idealo.co.uk, who stated that the cost of skiing in some of France's most well-known regions has fallen.

"Surprisingly, some of the luxury and exclusive French resorts like Meribel and Chamonix offer great budget options," he commented.

Mr McLoughlin's assertions could prompt more people to seek out property in France to take advantage of the end of the ski season.

Research carried out by his company found that France is the preferred European ski destination among British holidaymakers, with 21 per cent of those surveyed selecting the country as a location for a snow break.

However, the organisation also found that overall, demand for skiing holidays is down compared with last year.

Mr McLoughlin suggested that anyone looking for "guaranteed budget options" this winter should consider some of the lower altitude resorts in the Three Valleys area, such as Brides les Bains.
