France is set to be one of four countries outside the US to host the X Games. Creator of the American action sports show, ESPN, is hoping that the show will become an international phenomenon. From 2013, six X Game events will take place, two of which will still be held in the United States.

Three places are still available, and will be given to bidding countries. Los Angeles, Aspen, and Tignes in France have already been confirmed as hosts of some of the events. The three new cities chosen will have production powers for the events and will know if they have been chosen as early as 2012.

The bid process is going to be extremely thorough, as ESPN want to ensure that the countries in which the cities are have something unique to offer. The X Games is about being spectacular, and the producers also hope that the flair of each country can be portrayed in each of the events. For example, if an event was hosted in Australia, then surfing could easily be incorporated into the games as it is a widely associated sport with that country.

The games are to be in spectacular locations around the world, so stay tuned to find out what France has in store for them
