If you are thinking of jetting of to Portugal this month, you could be in for a culinary delight! Algarve Chefs Week is being held between May 14th and May 21st and head chefs from five star hotel restaurants in the area will be showcasing their skills.

Ten of the chefs will be doing a ‘meet and greet’ at Faro airport which gives holiday makers flying in the chance to sample some of their finest foods. The bespoke menu can be tried and the spokesman for the event, Mario Candeias says that “Algarve Chefs Week will now be a major event on the Algarve cuisine calendar” as it shows off one of Europe’s most famous secrets.

Live music is also on the cards as the ‘Turismo de Portugal’ is organising lots of events to take part in Algarve Nations, which is a huge celebration of the culture of other countries. This summer, tourists can expect to see a tribute to the UK. This will include music from Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals as well as a live performance from British band Morcheeba.
