  • El día de los muertos (the day of the dead), October 31st – November 2nd. Perhaps one of the most intriguing celebrations that attracts tourists. Originating from Mexican culture, the Spanish conquered Mexico and found natives following the ritual. In Spain it is combined with an all Saints day and People spend time in the cemeteries, light candles, and bake cakes for the dead.
