Stay in property in Spain during Las Fallas in ValenciaValencia will play host to a spectacular festival in March to mark the end of winter and the arrival of spring, which those staying in property in Spain may be able to enjoy.

Known in English as "the fires", Las Fallas is a pyrotechnic spectacle that will see stunning parades of floats and figures – or ninots – take to the city's streets before bonfires are lit and amazing firework displays light up the sky.

The festival celebrates the patron saint of carpenters – St Joseph – and is said to date back to the middle ages.

March 15th is the first day of the revelry, with the event running until March 19th – giving those staying in property in Spain plenty of time to take everything in.

On the final evening, the festival will come to a close and all the floats and decorated papier-mache figures that made up the parades will be burnt. This is known as the Night of Fire – or La Nit de Foc.

It will culminate with a massive fireworks display over the river, while the bonfires burn around the city.

And if you want to see some of the figures that have been saved over the years, you could pay a visit to the Museum of Las Fallas.
