The majority of Brits who spend time in property in Spain will have visited the country many times, it has been noted.
Carmen Hernandez Gomez, market analyst at the Spanish Tourism Office, commented: "Nine in ten that arrive in Spain every year have been in the country before."
She added that many people like staying in property in Spain because "they feel at home".
A recent survey published by sunshine.co.uk found that travellers consider Spain to be the safest destination in the world, with many people questioned describing the European country as "extremely safe".
Ms Hernandez Gomez pointed out that the modern facilities available in Spain, as well as its proximity to the UK are other factors that encourage people to return to the country.
She also noted that people who have stayed in property in Spain on many occasions before can always rent a car and explore further afield to discover more of the nation's varied regions.
