People who are planning a stay in property in Italy are bound to be looking forward to sampling the country's cuisine and one expert has offered some advice for dishes to look out for.
Rosalind Cooper, a specialist in wine, food and travel writing, commented that all the regions of Italy have their own distinctive flavour.
One that often gets overlooked by those seeking property in Italy is Calabria, she stated.
Situated in the south of the country, Ms Cooper explained that the region's cuisine offers "a wonderful, zingy combination of hot peppers, fragrant bergamot and all the familiar Mediterranean fruit and vegetables at their very best".
One item on the menu she urged visitors to try is swordfish, describing the seafood as "superb".
As well as the food, visitors to Calabria will find beautiful coastlines and mountainous landscapes.
According to the Italian tourist board, the regional capital Cantanzaro is home to a museum containing relics dating back to the Neolithic and Greek-Roman periods.
Meanwhile, in the city of Reggio Calabria the National Museum can be found, which is said to house "one of the most important archaeological collections in Italy".
