Property in Spain 'remains popular among Brits'Figures released by a travel company have shown that property in Spain is one of the most sought-after options for those taking holidays this year.

According to Monarch, the demand for flights to Spain has increased dramatically for summer 2011, compared with the same period last year.

The organisation noted that Majorca, Tenerife and Ibiza are among the most popular locations for those seeking property in Spain.

Hugh Morgan, managing director of tour operations for the Monarch Group, commented: "Bookings for Spain and the Spanish islands were strong in summer 2010, so the increased demand we are seeing this year is phenomenal and proof that the Brits' love affair with all things Spanish continues."

Monarch is running its biggest ever sale until the end of January, offering discounted flights and holidays.

A recent article in the Telegraph highlighted some of the reasons that Spain continues to appeal to holidaymakers, including value for money, warm weather and stunning beaches.
