The end of the trend for Britons to take "staycations" could see property in Spain become more popular once again.

For those choosing to head outside of Europe – perhaps to the US tourism capital of Florida – Ms O'Boyle has further advice on minimising outlay without having to compromise on the choice of where to spend vacation time.

She recommends checking flight costs to different airports, as transferring from an airfield slightly remote from the final destination could prove cheaper than flying directly into a resort.
