The royal wedding could be an ideal excuse for a long weekend in property in FranceMore people could be flying to property in France at the end of April 2011 to make the most of the extended bank holiday weekend put in place to honour the royal wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are due to marry on Friday April 29th, while Monday May 2nd is the usual Early May Bank Holiday.

Airline operator Flybe says it has seen a boost in bookings for flights to London during the weekend as more people look to join in the celebrations.

However, there have also been more bookings to fly out to property in France, Germany, Italy and Spain, along with other destinations on the Flybe route map.

Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter says: "The immediate rush for booking seats online for this weekend was something quite unprecedented."

Immediately following the announcement of the additional bank holiday for 2011, a 250 per cent spike in transactions across the entire Flybe network was detected.
